Rules for the use of the meeting rooms
The following rules apply to the use of the meeting rooms:
Application for the use of the meeting rooms must be in writing by the group representative on the official form obtained through the library.
Activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the library shall have first preference in use of the facilities.
Meetings must be held during regular library hours, or by special permission from the Library Director, in which case the Library Board will be notified of special permission.
Final authority for determining eligibility of any group will rest with the Library Director.
Groups may use the rooms on a limited basis only. Long-term usage by any group will be permitted upon permission from the Library Director, in which case the Library Board will be notified of special permission.
Smoking is not allowed in the library or the meeting rooms. Groups must comply with the safety regulations, state laws and building regulations.
Cost of damages to the building, furnishings and equipment beyond normal wear must be paid by the group having reservations at such time.
A responsible adult must make reservations and be present at all times to enforce discipline and building regulations for any youth group.
Groups may use the kitchen facilities in both meeting rooms including coffee makers, but must provide their own coffee, food and other supplies.
Groups are responsible for cleaning up and leaving the meeting rooms and bathrooms in order which found. The library will do normal housekeeping.
Gambling, raffles, lotteries and the use of alcoholic beverages and drugs are prohibited by law. The building will not be used for any unlawful purpose.
The use of open flame such as lighted matches, candles, etc. are forbidden. Electrical extensions and decorations must be flameproof.
The use of red/purple punch is prohibited in both meeting rooms.
The Sparta Carnegie Township Library assumes no responsibility, financial or otherwise, for accidents or injuries sustained by individuals or groups using the facilities.
